Key Players Return To Georgia Practice
Georgia began practice in preparation for the Florida game with key players returning.
Defensive tackle Trenton Thompson returned to practice after missing the past two games with a knee injury. Starting linebacker Reggie Carter also returned after missing the Vanderbilt and Missouri games.
More good news came with wide receiver Terry Godwin at practice. Godwin left in the first half of Saturday’s game with a rib injury. His 16 receptions are second on the team and he leads the Dawgs in receiving yardage.
Sophomore defensive tackle David Marshall, who has been playing well, missed practice. He left the Missouri game in the second half with an injury.
Junior wide receiver Jayson Stanley also missed practice. Stanley missed the Missouri game and his absence was felt in the Dawgs’ kicking game. He is the gunner on the punt and kickoff teams and Georgia can’t afford to give up big returns to the Gators.
Guard Pat Allen, who left Saturday’s game with a leg injury, also missed practice. Allen has started one game and has played significant minutes this season.
The Bulldogs return to practice Wednesday during the bye week. No. 3 Georgia takes on the Gators in Jacksonville October 28 at 3:30 p.m.
