One Reason Why Delaware Will Win

Is it possible that Virginia Tech is beaten up and a bit too battered after such a nasty battle with West Virginia?

The Hokies survived and moved on, but that was as grueling and tough as any Week One battle. Outside of new star QB Josh Jackson, the running game struggled to go anywhere. and it was a fight just to survive the Mountaineer late drive to battle back.

Meanwhile, Delaware had few problems stuffing Delaware State. The O line came up with a strong performance, while the D line owned the Hornet backfield.

If it’s possible for the Blue Hens to control the clock like they did last week – owning the ball for almost 40 minutes – and go +2 in turnover margin again, they might have a shot to hang around for a wee bit.

One Reason Why Virginia Tech Will Win

This is the game for the rest of the Hokies offense.

Jackson controlled the game with a huge performance on the ground to go along with the 235 yards in the air, but the backs should be able to take over early.

The defense the twas so rocky against the Mountaineers – allowing almost 600 yards of total offense – will be on notice that this is when everything has to tighten up.

There’s a relatively easy three-game stretch ahead with the, East Carolina, and Old Dominion before Clemson – the secondary has to be far tighter. After last week. In other words, the D will try.

What’s Going To Happen

The Hokies will come out hot with two early touchdown drives, and put it on cruise control from there. The more rest Jackson and the stars can get, the better.
