Running Back Sony Michel Limited In Practice With Minor Injury
Georgia running back Sony Michel tweaked his ankle on Saturday and is being limited in practice this week.
Sony Michel led the Bulldogs with 73 rushing yards on 13 attempts last Saturday in a 20-19 victory over Notre Dame. However, towards the end of the game, the senior appeared to twist his ankle and had to have it taped on the sideline, forcing Michel to miss the remainder of the game.
Following the injury, the talented tailback has been limited in practice this week, but is still expected to play this Saturday against Samford.
On Tuesday, Michel was spotted practicing in a regular jersey.
“I think he’s going to be fine,” Smart said after Tuesday’s practice. “We’re just limiting his reps, and hoping he’ll be able to go Saturday. We think he’ll be able to.”
Georgia squares against Samford on Saturday night at 7:30pm in Athens. The game will be televised on SEC Network plus.
