The tournament will be a headline event in the 2018-19 college basketball season and beyond

The Mountain West Conference announced Tuesday that it will feature a team in both the men’s and women’s inaugural Rocky Mountain Challenge tournament events in 2018. The challenge will be played at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The event will include eight teams in a “championship-style” tournament format. The women’s challenge is scheduled for November 15-17 and the men’s challenge is slated for November 19-21, with both events occurring in the 2018-19 collegiate season.

Players involved in the event will be able to participate in the Olympic venues and lodge with current and former U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

The list of teams for the men’s and women’s tournaments are to be determined. The Rocky Mountain Challenge will take place again in the 2019-2020 season.
