One Reason Why Georgia Will Win
If you want to see Jake Fromm air it out, here you go.
Samford has been solid so far in its 2-0 start, but its secondary got lit up like a Christmas tree by West Alabama last week in a 49-41 firefight.
Even with six sacks and a whole lot of pressure in the first two games, Samford can’t stop the big play down the field, with West Alabama’s Harry Satterwhite throwing for 401 yards and the Jaguars finishing with 464 through the air.
Sony Michel is already a bit banged up, and Nick Chubb doesn’t need to see the ball all that much with the SEC world about to kick in. This is where Georgia needs to let its true freshman go off.
Fromm was good enough in Notre Dame – throwing for 141 yards with just one pick – and now he gets to bomb away in a live scrimmage.
This is exactly why you pay Samford to come to your house to play.
One Reason Why Samford Will Win
The other Bulldogs can throw a bit, too.
It was West Alabama, so there’s no need to go overboard, but Devlin Hodges got the air show going with 317 yards and three touchdown passes, to go along with 51 rushing yards and a score. Kelvin McKnight caught 13 passes for 136 yards and two scores for the high-powered attack.
No, there’s no need for Georgia to get into too much of a twist over the Samford attack, but it should be just pesky enough to keep the game interesting for a while.
What’s Going To Happen
Samford will score early as Georgia goes through the motions post-Notre Dame and pre-Mississippi State. But when the FBS Bulldogs wake up, they’ll roll with a big second quarter to put an end to any drama.
Georgia vs. Samford Prediction
Georgia 47, Samford 9
