Brandon Dawkins is still the answer.

All offseason, the Arizona quarterback situation was one of the biggest question marks for a team in need of a big start and a resurgence for the offense.

Dawkins – a 6-3, 210-pound junior – won the gig, and he was fantastic at times in the first three games, destroying UTEP going 18-of-22 for 155 yards and three scores, to go along with 133 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

He hadn’t thrown a pick before Utah showed up.

Against the Utes, he had a hand in four of the five turnovers to offset the 248 passing yards and a score and a team-high 90 rushing yards and a touchdown.

No, he didn’t lose the game for the Wildcats – the team had a whole slew of other problems – and the good should outweigh the bad over the course of the season, but now Arizona is 2-2 in the two games when it didn’t win the turnover margin.

And now it has to deal with the Colorado defense next.

+4 against Northern Arizona and UTEP – win. 0 against Houston and -3 against Utah – loss, and loss.

Dawkins is the leading rusher and the catalyst for everything the Wildcats are doing. He needs more help from the running backs, and he needs to hope the defense can pick up the slack at times.

Otherwise, Khalil Tate, your table might be ready.
