Athlon Sports and Lindy’s shared four consensus first team All-Mountain West selections. San Diego State guard Trey Kell, Boise State guard/forward Chandler Hutchison, Nevada forward Jordan Caroline and San Jose State forward Brandon Clarke were selected by both mags. Clarke, however, announced that he would be transferring from San Jose State to Gonzaga after both magazines went to the press.

Athlon Sports ran a national top 100 player list in its preview, where four MWC players were recognized:

52) Chandler Hutchison, Boise State
71) Jordan Caroline, Nevada
73) Koby McEwen, Utah State
76) Brandon McCoy, UNLV

NC State transfers Caleb and Cody Martin were nodded by Athlon Sports on the “Transfers to Watch” list. They will both play pivotal roles for Nevada this upcoming season. San Diego State guard Devin Watson, who averaged over 20 points per game as a junior with San Francisco, also made the list.

In Lindy’s positional rankings, Chandler Hutchison is ranked as the #9 small forward in the country, Jordan Caroline is the #12 power forward, San Diego State’s Malik Pope is the #22 power forward, and UNLV’s Brandon McCoy is on the freshman watch list for centers.
