One Reason Why Grambling State Will Win

While there are massive losses on the defensive front from the 11-1 team that finished 20th in the FCS against the run, the upside and rotation will still be there to be good and strong against the better ground games.

And the D has had a full offseason to prepare for the Tulane option attack.

The Green Wave will try to take the offense to another level, but this is a game for tuning up with several new parts on the offensive line needing to come together right away with the American Athletic Conference opener against Navy up next.

Attack, attack, attack – the Tigers led the nation in tackles for loss last season, and they’re not going to slip all that much. Get to the option before it gets started, and you’ve got a chance.

One Reason Why Tulane Will Win

The Green Wave defense will mostly work on slowing down the run, because there’s a chance Grambling will struggle too much out of the gate getting the passing attack rolling.

All of the key parts to the Tiger receiving corps are gone, and while the offense will spread the ball around a little more, and QB Devonte Kincade is a playmaker, Parry Nickerson and the Green Wave secondary might be the team’s biggest strength.

What’s Going To Happen

The 21st ranked Tigers are going to be good, and they have the right coaching and systems in place to pull this off – they gave Arizona a nightmare of a time to start last season – but they have way too many big replacements to make.

The Tulane offense will be just good enough to control the clock and the game for stretches in the second half, and the secondary will clamp down on everything the Tiger passing game tries to do.

It won’t be easy – and, obviously, this might be played under the backdrop of the weather and everything that’s happening in the region – but the Green Wave will survive and advance.
