New Concession Stands Coming To Sanford Stadium This Fall
Fans in attendance at Georgia home games will enjoy the addition of two new food vendors inside Sanford Stadium.
This coming season, along with the newly designed West End Zone, UGA fans will enjoy food improvements throughout Sanford Stadium. Fans in attendance will notice the addition of both Dunkin’ Donuts and Dreamland BBQ, a popular Texas style barbecue chain among southerners.
DawgNation provides us with some more information.
New concessions partners Dreamland BBQ and Dunkin’ Donuts will be joining Chick-fil-A, Subway and Papa John’s Pizza, Felton said. Dreamland BBQ will be offered at nine locations throughout the stadium and will offer chopped pork and chicken sandwiches at each location, while barbecue pork nachos also will be offered at their Gate 6 Plaza stand. Dunkin’ Donuts will operate in Reed Plaza and offer hot and iced coffee and munchkins.
Additionally, Gate 6 Plaza has been turned into a food court, with Chick-fil-A, Dreamland BBQ and Papa John’s each having a stand.
However, there is a kicker here that you may find rather odd. Dreamland BBQ, though known for being delicious, was actually founded in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and is a treasured gem among Crimson Tide fans.
If you are like me, you will shrug this off and be thankful for the addition of some good barbecue to Sanford Stadium. However, knowing the landscape of football in the south, don’t be surprised if we hear more about this later on.
As for Dunkin’ Donuts, I’m sure a great number of sorority girls here and there will appreciate this addition (especially for noon kickoffs), but Munchkin donuts and a caramel iced latte certainly don’t come to mind when thinking college football.
