Georgia Tight End Isaac Nauta’s Metrics Are Some Of The SEC’s Best
Sophomore tight end Isaac Nauta came to Athens as a five star recruit. Will the talented Nauta have a breakout 2017 season?
Georgia tight end Isaac Nauta came to Athens with all the hype and tools expected of a five-star recruit. The IMG Academy graduate didn’t disappoint during his freshman year.
The metric valuation experts at Pro Football Focus have taken notice of the Buford native’s talents as well. Nauta ranks as the SEC’s second ranked efficient tight end based on yards gained per route ran. Nauta averaged 1.99 yards per route run, behind Kentucky’s C.J. Conrad’s 2.21 yards per route.
Nauta had 29 receptions for 361 yards and three touchdowns last season. He was a favorite target of his roommate, quarterback Jacob Eason. He made several All-American freshman teams and is expected to be a key piece of the Dawgs’ passing attack in 2017.
Nauta was selected to the pre-season All-SEC team by the media during SEC Media Days. Expect offensive coordinator Jim Chaney to exploit Nauta’s immense talents to create matchup nightmares for opposing secondaries.
