One Reason Why Holy Cross Will Win
Can the Crusaders get the offense going? With Peter Pujals back at quarterback – an all-star passer who missed most of last year hurt – there’s hope to start pushing the offense a little more after a rough 2016.
While there’s talent in the UConn secondary – and the defense will be terrific – the defensive backs are welcoming in a few new players to the mix.
Meanwhile, the offense is still a massive concern as it has to go from nothing to something to get everything in place before dealing with South Florida. But as long as Pujals goes off and is at least consistent, this could stay close.
One Reason Why Connecticut Will Win
Great against the run last season, the Huskies should be just as strong, if not better, at least right out of the box. New defensive coordinator Billy Crocker comes over from Villanova, where his Ds were rocks up front.
There needs to be more pressure into the backfield, but there are more than enough pieces returning to shut down the Crusader offense to a dead stop at times.
What’s Going To Happen
Connecticut will look back to old form right away. The running game will get physical early on, while the defense will get the job done against a Holy Cross attack that’ll have a hard time keeping the chains moving.
