Mountain West Bowl Projections
Will there be a Mountain West team that goes to a New Year’s Six Bowl game?
Mountain West Bowl Tie-ins & Projections
The Mountain West is down one bowl tie-in this year with the Poinsettia Bowl going under, but over the league has five bowl tie-ins, and an alternate with the Cactus Bowl.
The conference should have no problem filling out the five spots and could be looking at maybe seven bowl bids which the league has produced since 2014 — only the 2014 year was for Boise State going to the Fiesta Bowl.
Right off the top we will say that in the preseason there will not be a Mountain West team projected in a New Year’s Bowl game, but that could change quickly.
Look for seven Mountain West teams to go bowling taking the open spot at the Frisco Bowl and returning a team back to the Cactus Bowl because the Pac-12 will not have enough eligible teams.
