San Diego State leads the way with four players on the all-conference teams

The Mountain West media likes Wyoming’s key players so much that they named quarterback Josh Allen as the offensive player of the year and on defense safety Andrew Wingard was named the defensive player of the year. Despite earning these honors the Cowboys are projected to finish second in the division.

Overall, San Diego State has the most players with four, and that includes Rashaad Penny being listed twice at running back and also special teams player of the year. If Penny wins the special team award at the end of the season it will be his third time winning the award.

One notable item on the defensive side is that there are zero Aztecs on the preseason defensive list. The San Diego State defense is reloading a bit but they should still have a very good and the secondary with Kameron Kelly and Parker Baldwin.
