Former Colorado State forward Emmanuel Omogbo has signed a professional contract with Italy’s Victoria Libertas Pallacanestro.
In two years with CSU, Omogbo averaged 12.3 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
A ferocious rebounder, Omogbo currently places in the Mountain West’s top 10 in career defensive rebounding percentage and total rebounding percentage. The conference recognized Omogbo as a first team all-conference player this past spring.
After going undrafted, Omogbo was added to Golden State’s summer league roster, but did not do enough to stick on one of the NBA’s greatest teams. The 6-8 forward averaged 4.7 minutes in three appearances and went 3-4 from the field in the Las Vegas summer league.
According to The Rocky Mountain Collegian’s Justin Michael, Omogbo will be playing alongside North Florida’s Dallas Moore and BYU’s Eric Mika in Italy. The trio combined to average 57.8 points, 22.7 rebounds and 7.3 assists during the 2016-17 collegiate season.
Omogbo continues to show the desire of landing on an NBA roster at some point, and it’s possible that a trip abroad could help refine his skills.
