Welcome to the first look and picks for the biggest games of the 2017 college football season. These quick thoughts are being done in early June, with the real Fearless Prediction and expanded breakdown coming in August.

Early June First Thought: What’s Going To Happen?

Everyone needs a great Week One win – and look impressive doing it.

Arizona State really needs a great Week One win – and look really impressive doing it.

The Sun Devils haven’t won a college football game since October 8th of last year, and one just once since late September. After the collapse and the problems in the downfall of what was looking like an okay season, there’s no messing around here. ASU is supposed to blow away New Mexico State, and anything less than that will set off panic alarms.

The Aggies return experienced in their last few seasons as a Sun Belt program, but can they keep up with an offense that’ll be looking to put this away early.

ASU finished last season with the nation’s second-worst defense and dead-last pass D, but New Mexico State will try getting its star RB Larry Rose III going right away to try settling the game down and setting a tone.

While Rose and the NMSU offense will have its moments, there’s no prayer for a defensive front that’s about to get hit and hit hard.
