All You Really Need To Know About Michigan
Michigan survived a wild and crazy 92-91 shootout over Oklahoma State by bombing away. The great shooting from the season, and the Big Ten Tournament, continued by nailing a ridiculous 16-of-29 from three and connecting on 18-of-22 from the free throw line. Air tight, Michigan only turned it over four times.
The Wolverines have shot well all year, especially from three, and the Ok State game wasn’t an aberration – they just don’t turn the ball over. They don’t rebound, and they don’t block any shots, but they’ll outbomb you if there’s a defensive lull.
All You Really Need To Know About Louisville
The Cardinals were able to roll by Jacksonville State 78-63 with an efficient performance and doing a great job on the boards. The defense was just okay, but it forced 14 turnovers. The offense might have been solid from the field, but it rolled on the second chances with 16 offensive rebounds.
Louisville is as active up front as any team in the country, finishing 26th in the nation in rebounding and tenth in blocked shots. The defense is usually better at forcing misses than it was in the first round.
What’s Going To Happen
Can the Louisville defense that forces a ton of turnovers and is 14th in the nation in field goal percentage defense hold down the outstanding Wolverine shooters? It’ll be a frenetic game that should be as much fun as any in the second round, with the Cardinals doing just enough to get by thanks to that defense.
