All You Really Need To Know About Seton Hall
(Big East) RPI: 44, 9 seed
After an ugly January, the Pirates found their groove, winning eight of nine games before pushing Villanova in a 55-53 Big East Tournament. They rebound as well as anyone in the country, and they come up with the occasional steal, but they’re a disaster on the free throw line, don’t move the ball around, and don’t hit from three.
But they were good enough to get past Butler on the road before beating Marquette in the tournament. They’re tough, but they can’t get into a shootout.
All You Really Need To Know About Arkansas
(SEC) RPI: 28, 8 seed
It’s a feisty team full of fighters who bring the pressure and do a nice job of creating the turnovers for transition points. However, they’re not able to do anything from three and the defense isn’t there when the backcourt isn’t forcing mistakes.
The Hogs can hit their free throws, and they block a ton of shots and turn them into points, but they need to get on the move and they need to keep the pace at a frenetic level. If they get down, though, they need to attack even more and not necessarily shoot from deep.
What’s Going To Happen
Seton Hall turns the ball over way too much and doesn’t move the ball around well enough to handle the Arkansas pressure. Once the Hogs decide to turn the heat up, the easy points will start to come. The Pirates don’t have the outside shooting to bomb their way out of a big Hog run.
