The Conference USA East race is hardly over with six of the seven teams still alive, but WKU’s win over Middle Tennessee in double overtime two weeks ago all but ended the fun.
The Hilltopper offense continues to be amazing, scoring 50 points or more in three of the last four games outside of the 44-43 win over Middle Tennessee, but this week it’ll be the defense that should show up.
The Florida Atlantic offense has problems to begin with – with one of the nation’s least efficient offenses and no ability to keep drives moving, and now it has to deal with a line that’s missing several key parts. Five key players have been knocked out of the mix over the last month, and it’s going to be even more of an issue against a Hilltopper defense that doesn’t generate a pass rush, but gets into the backfield without a problem.
The Owls won’t be able to handle the WKU passing game – this will be over after about 20 minutes.
