Finally, a game Mike Leach can’t screw up.
If Leach had handled the field goal situation and the game management aspect better against Boise State, Wazzu probably would’ve come up with a win on the blue turf. Instead, his Cougars once again bombed away for a bajillion yards – with nothing to show for it.
Fortunately, before kicking off the Pac-12 season against Oregon, Luke Falk and company should be able to do whatever they’d like against an Idaho defense that’s 116th in the nation in pass efficiency D, while not getting the offense of its own rolling like expected.
The neighborhood battle should have lots of passing and lots of fireworks – with the Cougars finally coming up with their first win of the season on a massive 500-yard day from Falk.
This is where the Washington State machine kicks it in, but the Vandals will have their moments against a defense that gives up 513 yards per game.
