Can anyone stop the Auburn offense right now?

It took the CFP’s No. 9 team a little while to get revved up, but now on a five-game winning streak, the attack has been special as it rolls up silly rushing numbers in game after game, destroying Arkansas for 543 yards and seven scores, and following it up with 307 yards and three scores against Ole Miss.

How amazing has Auburn been? It’s averaging 372 rushing yards per game with 18 touchdowns over the last four games.

And the passing attack has been terrific, too.

With the running game handling the heavy lifting, Sean White has been a rock for the Auburn air show hitting 204 yards or more in four of the last five games – he wasn’t needed against Arkansas – with five touchdowns and just one pick.

Everything is working, and now it’s up to Vanderbilt’s outstanding defense to stop that.

With two straight wins – highlighted by a stunner over Georgia – and two weeks off to rest up after beating Tennessee State, the Commodore D has had time to prepare. It hasn’t always been a rock this year, but it hasn’t allowed more than 20 points since beating WKU in a late September overtime, and it’s okay at coming up with takeaways.

The Commodores don’t have much on offense, but it’s able to grind out games at times and it doesn’t screw up. They don’t commit penalties, and they don’t turn the ball over, giving it up a mere seven times, and with three of them coming in the loss to Florida – the only time all year they lost the turnover margin.

But Auburn can play a little bit of defense, too.

Lost in the explosion from the offense has been the Tiger D that’s been every big as dominant. It’s only allowed more than 19 points twice, doing a fantastic job at getting into the backfield and clamping down on third downs.

The Commodore defense might be good, but Auburn’s is stuffing just about everyone’s rushing game, with the back seven stopping everything that gets past the line, and Carl Lawson and Montravius Adams being disruptive up front.

Vandy might have a few good moments, but the Tigers are playing way too well right now.
