How can you not have fun with these two?
Louisiana Tech appears to have reloaded in a hurry with a few big offensive performances and coming really, really close to beating Arkansas. Meanwhile, Texas Tech is back to being Texas Tech and putting up a bajillion yards through the air, but giving them right back defensively.
Arizona State and Kalen Ballage ran wild on the Red Raider defense last week in the 68-55 Sun Devil win, and now it’s up to Jarred Craft and the rest of the Bulldog backs to crank out the big runs Ballage tore off last year.
Texas Tech’s defensive front just doesn’t have the ability to stop a decent ground attack, but Louisiana Tech can throw, too, with Ryan Higgins showing the ability to keep up the pace in a passing war.
Patrick Mahomes has run for three scores, and he’s been brilliant handling the Red Raider attack hitting 71% of his passes for 1,023 yards and nine touchdowns with two picks. He’s on pace to throw for over 6,000 yards – which would beat fellow Texas Tech quarterbacks B.J Symons and Graham Harrell – and while that’ll be a hard target to hit, he’s been every bit as good as expected so far.
Louisiana Tech will put up massive numbers, and the defense will come up with its share of stops, but Mahomes and the Red Raider offense will simply outbomb its way to a win.
