Well, check out who’s the No. 4 team in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Texas A&M might be just renting space depending on how the Power Five championships go, but the team got the respect from the only people who really matter right now.

And now, while there might be tough battles ahead against Ole Miss and LSU, they’re both at home – this is the last road game of the season, and the rested Aggies have to look the part against a bad Mississippi State team.

The Bulldogs had their fun last week with a win over Samford to stop a three-game losing streak, but with at Alabama, Arkansas, and at Ole Miss left to play, getting to six wins and bowl eligibility will be a wee bit of a problem.

Mississippi State has a balanced offense – mostly because QB Nick Fitzgerald is doing everything – but overall, the team just can’t catch a break.

The defense is sketchy, but it’s not totally miserable. It just can’t come up with a clutch stop, and it’s giving up way too many points. This is the D that breaks, as well as bends, allowing 35 points or more in four of the last five games.

That’s going to be a problem against an offense that really and truly knows what offensive balance is, averaging 249 rushing yards per game, and 249 passing yards per game. Mississippi State won’t be able to stop either part of the Aggie attack that’ll come up with a few early scores and coast from there.

After not doing too much in the previous two games, and with a week off, A&M RB Trayveon Williams should be rested and ready to roll. Trevor Knight will keep the chains moving, but a huge day from the Aggie ground game will help justify the CFP’s pick ranking.
