Temple (7-3) vs. Tulane (3-7) Game Preview
Date: Saturday, Nov. 19
Game Time: 3:30 pm
Venue: Yulman Stadium, New Orleans, LA
Temple needs to beat Tulane and East Carolina to play for the AAC title, or it needs to win one of its final two games and hope for a South Florida loss. For the hottest team in the conference, it’s rolling at just the right time and should be able to handle a Tulane offense that needs to come up with something special.
The Owl defensive front has been a rock against the run, but it’s the secondary that’s dominating with the nation’s second-best pass defense. Not that it’ll have to worry about Tulane doing anything through the air.
The Green Wave passing game is the least-efficient in college football, but the running game is rolling for 236 yards per game, and the defense has been good enough to hang around, allowing just 353 yards an outing. However, the O hasn’t been able to keep up, losing five straight because the attack just can’t move the chains.
This is a horrible fit for Tulane, and it’ll show, even in the last home game of the season. The offense that wasn’t able to get going against UCF or Houston over the last two weeks won’t get kickstarted against this Owl D. It’s not going to be pretty at times.
