Fearless Prediction: Troy 48, Idaho 20

Idaho hasn’t shown off any sort of an offense this year, except against a UNLV team that inexplicably melted down in a poor performance. Meanwhile, Troy has been air-tight, fighting in a loss to Clemson that now looks impressive, while the offense has been balanced, efficient, and doing a great job of not screwing up. Here’s where the Trojans show they’re the real deal.

Incarnate Word at Texas State 7:00 pm TSSP/KEYE-TV
Line: No Line
Fearless Prediction: Texas State 52, Incarnate Word 20

Texas State gets a week to get its groove back. After looking great against Ohio to start the season, the Bobcats were outscored by Arkansas and Houston by a combined score of 106-6. Now comes the offensive firepower again, rolling at will before diving into the Sun Belt world with two road games in a row. The machine will get tuned back up, but the Cardinals will come up with their share of scoring drives to keep this from getting too brutal.

Are the Ragin’ Cajuns ready to rise up and fill the Sun Belt void left with Arkansas State struggling early on? After pushing Tulane hard in a rough four-overtime loss, the ground game will have fun doing whatever it wants to. NMSU got Larry Rose III back last week, but he wasn’t enough to help to anything in a blowout loss to Troy. The Aggies aren’t stopping anyone right now – ULL will take off for over 300 yards on the ground, but its key is to stop screwing up and turning the ball over.
