SEC Media Preseason Poll announced. What are the five things that matter about the media’s choices for the SEC’s finish?

– It’s going to be Tennessee vs. Alabama for the SEC championship. At least that’s what’s coming out of SEC media days. Alabama is picked to win the SEC title, with Tennessee ranked third in the voting order behind the Crimson Tide and LSU.

– It’s supposed to be Tennessee’s season in the East, and it’s not even close. The Vols received 2,167 points to win the division with Florida second with 1,891 and Georgia coming close with 1,860. On the other side, Alabama barely beat out LSU 2,220 points to 1,984. Mississippi State was dead last in the West by a ton, getting just 518 points. South Carolina was picked last in the East with 800.

– The weird curveball? Vanderbilt received a vote to win the SEC, as did South Carolina, while Arkansas got one vote coming from the West. Truly able to say, “no one believes in us,” Kentucky, Missouri, Auburn and Mississippi State didn’t receive a single SEC-winning vote. For the AU Tigers, it’s a far cry from last year when …

– Remember, last year the media picked Auburn to win the SEC title, but also picked Alabama to win the West. Also, last year the media selected Florida fifth in the East with Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and South Carolina ranked higher – so take this all with a few grains of salt.

– Who’ll actually going to win the SEC divisions? Check out the CFN preseason SEC picks for every team and every game.
