Where are all the Pac-12 teams going this post-season? What bowls are their destiny? Here are the College Football News preseason predictions and bowl projections looking at where the Pac-12 teams will go.
2016 Preseason Big 12 Bowl Projections
The Pac-12 bowl ties are solid, but are there enough of them? The league needs to get a team into the College Football Playoff to help the cause in case there are more than seven teams bowl eligible, and this season, it could be a close call.
And that’s the problem. If the Pac-12 doesn’t get two teams into New Year’s Six games or the CFP, there won’t be enough bowl slots. That means Arizona will probably win seven games and not have a home.
The league might try to lobby and figure something out – the Poinsettia Bowl would likely love to break the conditional tie-in with the MAC if BYU isn’t eligible – but someone has to be left out.
Obviously, the Pac-12 is sending a team to the Rose Bowl, even if a team goes off to the CFP. There isn’t too much ambiguity with the rest of the pecking order, but there’s still a question mark when it comes to geography and matchups that work best.
So with all that in mind, the 2016 preseason Pac-12 bowl projections are …
