Where are all the Big 12 teams going this post-season? What bowls are their destiny? Here are the College Football News preseason predictions and bowl projections looking where the Big 12 teams will go.
2016 Preseason Big 12 Bowl Projections
The Big 12 has seven bowl ties and one conditional spot in the Heart of Dallas Bowl for its ten-team league. That shouldn’t be a problem to fill, but it gets dicey if a team goes off to the College Football Playoff and gets an at-large team into the New Year’s Six.
It’s a relatively easy pecking order. The champion goes to the Sugar Bowl if it’s not in the CFP. The No. 2 team goes to New Orleans if the champ is in the big tournament.
The biggest plus for the conference as the big bowl matchups – they’re almost all against the Power 5, and the Armed Forces is against Navy. They’re all high-profile bowls, but if there’s expansion, it’s going to take more bowl ties to fill the holes.
So with all that in mind, the 2016 preseason Big 12 bowl projections are …
