2016 CFN Preseason All-Conference USA Team & Top 25 Players

Who are the best and brightest Conference USA players going into the college football season? Here’s the 2016 CFN Preseason All-Conference USA Team along with the Top 25 Players.

Previews & Breakdowns of Every Conference USA Team

2016 CFN Preseason Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year

QB Nick Mullens, Sr. Southern Miss

There are plenty of options to choose from among the league’s offensive stars. Middle Tennessee Brent Stockstill could lead the conference in passing, WKU receiver Taywan Taylor should put up massive numbers, and Old Dominion RB Ray Lawry should come up with a huge year. But it’s Mullens who should be the best player on the league’s best team, coming off a 4,476-yard, 38-touchdown season and with the talent around him to do even more.

2016 CFN Preseason Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year

DE Trey Hendrickson, Sr. Florida Atlantic

Can he continue to produce without several of the key players around him who helped the cause last season? It’s his defensive front, but he’ll have to be used to becoming keyed-on every week after coming up with 13.5 sacks and turning into a disruptive force in the backfield on a regular basis. He’s got the motor along with the skills – he’ll make plays even when he’s double-teamed.
