North Texas (4-5) vs. WKU (7-3) Game Preview
Date: Saturday, Nov. 12
Game Time: 3:30 pm
Venue: L.T. Smith Stadium, Bowling Green, OH
WKU can’t take the Conference USA East title with a win, but it can do it with a win and an Old Dominion loss. Or it can beat North Texas and Marshall, and then it’s off the championship.
Winners of four straight, the Hilltoppers are doing exactly what they’re supposed to do, dominating with an unstoppable attack scoring 44 points or more in each of the last six games, and 50 points or more in four of those.
Throw in a defense that’s been destroying the bad teams on the schedule – especially against the run – and the team is rolling. The passing game is coming up with big play after big play – QB Mike White is averaging over ten yards per throw.
But North Texas has just enough to potentially keep up the pace.
The Mean Green have lost two straight, but they didn’t get obliterated by Louisiana Tech – losing 45-24 – and they’ve shown the ability come up big at times in the secondary.
WKU is just too good. The offense is humming on all cylinders, but North Texas will have just enough positive moments defensively to keep this from getting out of hand.
