If the passing games work like they’re supposed to, this could be a whole lot of fun.
But Missouri has to hold up its end.
Drew Lock was one of the hottest quarterbacks in the country in September, but LSU and Florida put an end to that, bottoming out with a 4-of-18, 39-yard, two pick day in the disaster against the Gators.
Even with the problems, there’s still time to get bowling with several winnable games ahead, but beating the high-powered Blue Raiders at home is a must.
This is a fun, explosive Middle Tennessee team coming off a disappointing and wild double-overtime loss to WKU loss helped by a blocked extra point. Good enough to hit Mizzou hard through the air, Brent Stockstill threw for 434 yards and three scores against the Hilltoppers, and earlier this year hit Vanderbilt for 399 yards and three touchdowns.
And the Blue Raiders lost both games.
Missouri’s defense isn’t good enough to come up with a whole slew of dead stops against a Middle Tennessee offense that’s brilliant at keeping drives going, but Lock will find his groove again with a 350-yard day to win in the wild and crazy shootout.
Get ready for close to 700 passing yards, lots of wild mood swings, and a strong win for Missouri at a desperately needed time.
