Kansas State has been able to rest and relax ever since the start of the season against Stanford, getting a week off before facing two easy teams leading up to the showdown against West Virginia to kick off Big 12 play next week.

The Wildcats needed to show off the offense against Florida Atlantic, and it rolled up 63 points with the running game rolling at will. This week is about sharpening up the passing game that was great against FAU, but didn’t get pressed.

On the plus side, Missouri State isn’t going to be a total pushover. The Bears have a nice running game, the defensive front is active and should win its share of battles, and there’s just enough pop in the return game to spark a few big hits here and there.

Kansas State has committed a very un-Kansas State-like 20 penalties so far, but that’s one of the few areas that truly needs tightening. The Bears will come up with a few scores, but they won’t be able to get the Wildcat offense off the field early in the second half as the game starts to slip away.
