Kansas (1-1) vs. Memphis (1-0) Game Preview
Date: Saturday, September 17th
Game Time: 12:00 pm
Venue: Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, Memphis, TN
Memphis head coach Mike Norvell had an okay debut with a 35-17 win over SE Missouri State, now can the offense start to ramp things up against a bad Kansas team coming off a home trouncing to Ohio?
The Jayhawks finally got a win for head coach David Beaty with a 55-6 blasting of Rhode Island to kickoff the season, but the defense had a rough time stopping the Ohio ground game in the 37-21 home loss.
The big problem so far has been an O line that’s not pushing anyone around for the ground game, but the Memphis running attack didn’t get moving with just 110 yards in the opener.
Both teams are still a work in progress, but Step One for Memphis is turnover margin, going a -2 against SEMO to keep the game somewhat interesting.
The Tiger defense will dominate the Jayhawk ground attack, while QB Riley Ferguson will get past a two-pick day in the opener to throw for over 300 yards in a double-digit Tiger win.
