Iowa vs. North Dakota State Game Preview
Date: Saturday, September 17th
Game Time: 12:00 pm
Network: Kinnick Stadium, Iowa City, IA
Who’s had more fun this year than North Dakota State? The defending FCS national champs have been pushed and pushed hard in their first two games against Charleston Southern and Eastern Washington, winning the first game in overtime and the second in double overtime.
The program knows how to find ways to win. Now it has to go big game hunting and do something truly special in Iowa City.
NDSU might be an FCS program, but it’s the toughest foe so far for the Hawkeyes after rolling through Miami University and Iowa State. The offense hasn’t quite clicked to perfection so far, but it’s been good enough.
The Hawkeye defense overcame an uneven performance against MU by stuffing Iowa State allowing just 291 yards, and while the offense was fine, it’s best thing going so far is that it’s not screwing up.
Iowa has yet to turn the ball over, while the D has come up with four takeaways. The Bison don’t make a slew of mistakes, but the offense that thrives on keeping the chains moving won’t be able to do it like they have over the first two games.
Iowa will have to fight, but it’ll flex its FBS muscle in the fourth quarter to avoid the disaster. There will be moments of fear, though.
