Florida Atlantic (1-4) vs. Charlotte (1-4) Game Preview
Date: Sunday, Oct. 9
Game Time: 12:00 pm
Venue: FAU Football Stadium, Boca Raton, FL
With the region still trying to get past the fears and problems of Hurricane Matthew, FAU’s game now on Sunday takes on a little more meaning – it gets a little more of the spotlight to itself in an oddly-timed game.
It’s one of the few chances for each team to shoot for a win, with FAU coming off a rough loss to a FIU team that started out miserably and fired Ron Turner.
The Owls just can’t move the ball with the third-worst third down conversion percentage in the country converting just 26% of their chances.
Fortunately, they get a 49er team with a defense that’s more than happy to make mediocre offenses look great.
Charlotte might be able to run okay, and the D will come up with some takeaways here and there, but at home – even if it’s a dysfunctional home right now with everything going on – finally the Owl attack should be able to wake up a bit.
Greg Howell is coming off an explosive 101-yard rushing day against FIU. Expect another big day as the Owls finally have something positive go their way.
