Ohio (4-2) vs. Eastern Michigan (4-2) Game Preview
Date: Saturday, Oct. 15
Game Time: 2:00 pm
Venue: Peden Stadium, Athens, OH
It’s a shame Eastern Michigan isn’t in the East – it might win the thing. Instead it’s probably the fourth-best team in the West, but it’s still pushing for a bowl bid with four wins already under its belt and in need of a win with a trip to Western Michigan up next.
The Eagles have been surprisingly sharp all year throwing the ball, while the defensive front has been a rock at times. Throw out the loss to Toledo last week – the Rockets are just that good. A win over Ohio, though, will be the better true test.
The Bobcats will face EMU QB Brogan Roback with Todd Porter out with a shoulder injury, but they’ve been at their strongest so far this year against the run. On a three-game winning streak, they’re hot right now, but thy have yet to beat a team that’ll go bowling and with Tennessee the one good team on the slate.
This doesn’t matter too much for the East race, but the Bobcats will win the turnover battle, they’ll run just enough to be okay, and they’ll survive against an EMU team that’s the real deal, but won’t be able to come through on a key late drive.
