Colorado State (2-2) vs. Wyoming (2-2) Game Preview
Date: Saturday, Oct. 1
Game Time: 10:15 pm
Venue: Hughes Stadium, Fort Collins, CO
Really, Wyoming? You lost to Eastern Michigan two years in a row?
Brian Hill and the running game haven’t been able to get into a groove yet, QB Josh Allen has been offsetting his upside and promise with way too many key mistakes – call them growing pains.
But the Cowboys have to mostly figure out how to handle a decent passing attack at some point. They’re getting dinked and dunked on to death, and in the case of Nebraska, they’re getting hit hard by the deep ball at the absolute wrong time.
Fortunately, they get to play Colorado State.
The Rams have been absolutely awful trying to throw it so far, and the ground attack hasn’t been able to pick up the slack. However, as ugly as they’ve been, losing to Colorado and Minnesota this year isn’t all that bad, and the defense hasn’t been too bad at being disruptive once in a while.
It just can’t come up with a key stop to get off the field.
Wyoming is way overdue for a good performance out of the ground game against a decent team, and it might happen against a Ram D that got gouged by the Gophers.
Colorado State will wake up in the second half in time to avoid the disaster that could sink the season. It’ll be a win, but it won’t be confidence-inspiring.
