Which college football programs are the greatest of all-time according to the UPI and USA Today Coaches final polls?

This is the decade of the big change, with the UPI rankings up until 1990 turning into the USA Today Coaches Poll in 1991 – and there was a doozy of a few arguments early on. Washington got the national title over Miami in 1991, after 1990 finished up with Georgia Tech winning the national championship over the AP’s Colorado.

Overall, Florida State ruled the 1990s with top four finish after top four finish, along with two national titles. Nebraska’s three national championships helped on the way to the No. 2 spot, while Florida and Tennessee were right there in the hunt of the top schools.

Taking all the UPI and Coaches Poll final rankings, CFN devised a scoring system giving every AP national champion 25 points, the No. 2 team 24, No. 3 23, and so on down to the bottom.
