CFN Preview 2016 Preseason All-Sun Belt Team & Top Players

2016 CFN Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year

RB Jordan Chunn, Jr. Troy : What more do you want the guy to do? He was one of the top runners in the Sun Belt with 1,232 yards and 13 scores, was a solid receiver with 29 catches, and carried the offense at times with backfield mate QB Brandon Silvers wasn’t on. He was the go-to man time and again.

2016 CFN All-Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year

DE Chris Odom, Sr. Arkansas State : It was a great year for Sun Belt pass rushers, with teammate Ja’Von Rolland-Jones and South Alabama’s Randy Allen dominant as well, but Odom was the best of the bunch with his league-leading 12.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. He might have taken turns with Rolland-Jones, but he did a wee bit more.

TE – Gerard Everett, Sr. South Alabama

OL – Parker Collins, Sr. Appalachian State (C)

Leader in the middle of the Sun Belt’s best running game. The Mountaineers were the only Sun Belt team to run for over five yards per carry, averaging 5.6 yards per pop.

OL – Jemar Clark, Sr. Arkansas State

The ASU running game was just okay, but the 6-6, 306-pound veteran was a rock at left tackle.

OL – Antonio Garcia, Sr. Troy (OT)

The Trojans allowed just seven sacks all year. The star at left tackle was the best blocker in the Sun Belt for the best all-around line.

OL – Colby Gossett, Jr. Appalachian State (OG)

The big-time run blocker on the ASU interior, he combined with tackle Beau Nunn to dominate on the right side.

OL – Andy Kwon, Sr. Georgia Southern (C)

It wasn’t the dominant Georgia Southern running game of the past, but the 6-2, 300-pound veteran was a technician of a quarterback for the offensive front.
