You want to try figuring these bowls out? The favorites are winning so far – for the most part – but the underdogs are KILLING it against the spread. So if you’re in a confidence pool that’s just based on straight up winners, you’re rocking. If you’re in one that’s about the lines, you’re getting crushed.

Again, as I said last week, the randomness in this weird, weird bowl season is why Clucko The Chicken – the coin flip – is winning the CFN Confidence Pool Picks.

Eventually, everything will regress back to the mean – so buy the tech stock low.

This is all just for spits, giggles, and entertainment purposes only. However, just in case you dabble …

I have loved in my life. And I have lost. And it’s better to have loved and won, then to have never loved at all, or to have loved and lost, or something to that effect. I love Mississippi State -14.

In case you haven’t noticed, the MAC has sucked so far. Central Michigan was overmatched, Ohio lost, Toledo lost. Eastern Michigan lost. Our pets’ heads are falling off. Miami University is plucky, but not only is Mississippi State an APR team – the 5-7ers seem to really care about getting in bowl games – but it’s the SEC vs. the MAC.

But there’s always a caveat when it comes to games like this. If Mississippi State cares …

Over/under on the number of people who show up to the Quick Lane Bowl who aren’t related to any of the Maryland or Boston College players: 1.5.

I’m Mr. College Football Bowl Games. I should have a hat. I get ripped on my love of the bowl season, I’ve been dogged whenever I dog those who have “hot takes” about how there are too many bowls. For the life of me, I can’t figure out what so many people are mad about the number of bowl games – like there aren’t too many NBA, MLB and college basketball games. With that said, this Quick Lane Bowl is going to be a tough watch.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but take the under … (?) Bowl games tend to crank up the offense just a little bit, and Maryland vs. Boston College could fall into the 26-20 range. The o/u is at 43.5 – put this on my Even If The Pick Is Wrong, It’s Sort Of The Right Call tab.

How many games between these two have come up with more than 44 points? Boston College had played six games that went over the mark, while ten Maryland games would’ve beaten the 43.5.

I know, I know, I originally predicted a 20-17 Boston College win. The nog is kicking in.

Old habits die hard. It’s wrong, but it’s served me well in the past. When it doubt, pick the SEC team over the ACC one.

Vanderbilt and NC State are just about dead even. Both defenses should dominate.

The over/under on the Independence Bowl is 45 after opening at 42.5. Fine, so let’s do this again. How many NC State games went over 45 combined points? Seven. How many Vanderbilt games went over the mark? Five.

Let’s do it this way. One of the two projected low-scoring games on Monday will go over, and one will go under.

AND FINALLY … watch out if Miami University gets lit up by Mississippi State. If the MAC really is taking it on the chin, that Cotton Bowl line is going to change with investors seeing that Wisconsin -8 might be a steal over Western Michigan.

Hope you’re having a happy holiday break. Enough sluffing – go back to talking to your family. Or don’t.
