Buffalo finally showed it really can play a little bit.
After an inexcusable loss to Albany to start the season, and a blowout loss to Nevada, the Bulls stepped up and got by Army in overtime to turn the season around – at least that’s the hope.
The defense has the toughness and experience to do a better job against the run than the stats might show against Nevada and Army run offenses, and this week it’ll be tested again.
Can the UB backfield tandem of QB Tyree Jackson and RB Jordon Johnson show anything against the BC defense that’s back to its normal self?
The Eagles might have been rocked by Virginia Tech two weeks ago, but it got its groove back in a scrimmage against Wagner to start showing off the offense a little bit. Now it has to carry over in a hurry with Clemson up this week – after dealing with the solid UB D, first.
The Eagles will blow off the passing game until they absolutely need it, but Patrick Towles won’t give up the big turnover and Jon Hillman will own the ground game and the clock with a bruising 100 yards.
The Bulls will have a hard time scoring or get on enough long drives, but the D will keep this from getting out of hand.
