Boise State (9-1) vs. UNLV (4-6) Game Preview
Date: Friday, Nov. 18
Game Time: 9:00 pm
Venue: Albertsons Stadium, Boise, ID
Boise State needs a Wyoming loss to San Diego State or New Mexico to get into the Mountain West title game, but it has to take care of business against UNLV and Air Force to get it done.
Do that, beat San Diego State, hope for a Western Michigan loss, and it’s off to the New Year’s Six. No problem.
First, the Broncos have to roll in their final home game of the year, and they’re coming into it with the O rolling at just the right time. The loss to Wyoming seemed to have woken the team up, with RB Jeremy McNichols carrying the way with five straight games with 140 rushing yards or more and 18 touchdowns on the year.
And now he gets to rumble against an okay, not great, UNLV defense.
The Rebels did Boise State a solid with a wild and wacky three overtime win over Wyoming, but they lost leading receiver Devonte Boyd for the year in a receiving corps hit hard by injuries.
This might be a plucky UNLV team that’s still in the hunt for a bowl – needing to beat Boise State and Nevada – but it’s about to run into a buzzsaw.
Boise State will roll at will, and it’ll get the break it needs to take the Mountain Division back.
