Appalachian State vs. Old Dominion Game Preview
Date: Saturday, September 10th
Game Time: 3:30 pm
Venue: Kidd Brewer Stadium, Boone, NC
It’s amazing how, all of a sudden, America figured out that Appalachian State is pretty good. Marcus Cox is a solid running back, Taylor Lamb is a smart veteran quarterback, and the Mountaineer defense isn’t a fluke. After coming with a bad break fumble recovery of beating Tennessee, now the spotlight is on to take care of the relative layup.
Old Dominion had far more fun in its opener with the offense exploding on Hampton in a 54-21 win. With four takeaways and huge runs and explosive plays, the Monarchs looked dangerous with the pop that Tennessee never seemed able to bring. Can Ray Lawry run for 110 yards and a score again? Can David Washington be as sharp after spreading around four touchdown passes? Nope.
Yeah, Appalachian State is that good. The Mountaineer ground attack will finish off the drives it struggled to put away in Knoxville.
