2016 CFN Preseason All-MAC Team & Top 25 Players

Who are the best and brightest MAC players going into the college football season? Here’s the 2016 CFN Preseason All-MAC Team along with the Top 25 Players.

Previews & Breakdowns of Every MAC Team

2016 CFN Preseason MAC Offensive Player of the Year

WR Corey Davis, Sr. Western Michigan

Take your pick among the great offensive weapons on Western Michigan who could be Players of the Year –  QB Zach Terrell and running backs Jamauri Bogan and Jarvion Franklin are all tremendous. But it’s Davis who should be the unstoppable playmaker on the league’s best team coming off a 90-catch season for 1,436 yards and 12 scores. Very big, very consistent, and very dangerous, he should be in the hunt for All-America honors, too.

2016 CFN Preseason MAC Defensive Player of the Year

CB Shawun Lurry, Jr. Northern Illinois

One of the nation’s top pick-off artists last season, Lurry led the country with nine interceptions to go along with 15 broken up passes. He made his name with a huge day in the loss to Ohio State – picking off two passes – but he was consistent throughout the season. The 5-9, 178-pounder is ultra-quick and is great at attacking the ball, but he’s also terrific at coming up with the stop against the run when needed.
