The narratives are becoming formed.

You can’t lose like that, Arkansas, and you REALLY can’t lose like that, Colorado, if you’re the No. 2 team in the conference.

But there’s still time to change things up, and as we all know when it comes to the bowl games, it’s what the big boys do that everyone will remember.

And now is when those big boys are going to get their chances to show what they can do.

This is all just for spits, giggles, and entertainment purposes only. However, just in case you dabble …

It’s been a surprisingly bad, bad run so far for the SEC. Arkansas plotzed, South Carolina couldn’t hang on to the ball inside the 20, Mississippi State struggled against a bad MAC team, Texas A&M whiffed, and Vanderbilt was never really in it against NC State. It all has to start changing up now. Georgia, you’re carrying the torch in the AutoZone Liberty.

It’s been a surprisingly good, good run so far for the Big 12. Oklahoma State was terrific against Colorado, Baylor did its job against Boise State, and Kansas State made up for West Virginia’s loss to Miami with a great win over Texas A&M. TCU, you’ve been the flakiest of the flaky this year. Be on the good side of nutty against the Dawgs.

To go Gruber, do not … alter … the plan. There’s still time. The SEC-is-going-to-be-okay sticks, and Georgia rises up right away on Friday with a good performance with what’ll be touted as one of the strongest backfields in college football.

Georgia as the underdog? Super.

It’s been a just-as-expected awful, awful run so far for the Pac-12. From Colorado’s disaster, to Washington State’s whiff, to Utah struggling, the league needs to redeem itself with a key win over the hot ACC in the Hyundai Sun.

The lack of Christian McCaffrey won’t matter. North Carolina is better than Stanford with or without No. 5. However, Mitch Trubisky won’t look like the No. 1 overall draft pick.

North Carolina as the underdog? Super.

Tennessee is going to be better with the time off to rest up and recuperate. And I’m sticking with that, even in the face of everything screaming out that Nebraska is going to take your 2016 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.

Oh what fun an offseason it’ll be if Butch Jones loses this game, along with the Kevin Sumlin and Bret Bielema issues.

Again, do not, alter, the plan. The SEC is going to make its statement, and it’s going to beat a Husker team that just won’t have enough firepower to keep up after an early start.

Yeah, I said it. Tennessee -7? Fine.

However, if Nebraska wins this, Mike Riley will start to be seen in a different light.

It’s been a surprisingly good, good run so far for the Sun Belt. Arkansas State to Appalachian State, Idaho to Troy, the league has represented itself well, and now it’s 14-point underdog to South Alabama in your NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl?

South Alabama as the underdog? Super.

Look, Air Force is more than two touchdowns better than South Alabama. But with the way the double-digit favorites are playing – Tulsa is the only one to win the ATS battle – you really want to start messing with the fickle finger of fate?

South Alabama could be just weird enough to pull this off outright. Remember, it beat Mississippi State and San Diego State.

As Americans, and after recent Orange Bowls, we deserve a great one. Please make that happen, Florida State and Michigan.

Okay, Jim Harbaugh. You’re really that good? You really don’t want the Rams job? You really want to prove that last year’s dominant bowl performance wasn’t a fluke, and Michigan really did belong in the College Football Playoff this season? The Noles are right there for you.

Florida State has to finally play up to its talent level. Most of the key injuries were season-ending, but this is a faster team than Michigan and it need some to play that way from the start.

Deondre Francois needs to be incredible, because Michigan’s run defense is going to create a world of problems for Dalvin Cook.

And Florida State’s defense is going to create a world of problems for Michigan. 51 points aren’t that many for the total, but both Ds should rock.

AND FINALLY … new theory. If you like Alabama, go all in. The SEC might be taking it on the chin – and that could be a warning sign – but talking to too many Crimson Tide types here in Atlanta, this game is over. This is a very, very, very overconfident fan base, with a very, very, very grounded team. If you like Bama to win, then you probably don’t think it’ll be pretty.
