Connecticut (3-7) vs. Boston College (4-6) Game Preview

Game Time: 1:00 pm
Venue: Alumni Stadium, Chestnut Hill, MA

It’s been a rough run in ACC play, and a tough year overall, but Boston College has a real, live shot to finish strong and go bowling with wins over UConn and Wake Forest. Even if it wins one of the last two games, on Academic Progress Rate, it’ll have a shot to get a swag bag by going 5-7.
The defense hasn’t been the killer it’s been in the past few years, and it wasn’t even close against Louisville or Florida State – losing the last two games by a combined score of 97-14 – while the offense hasn’t been a prize.
UConn hasn’t been quite as bad over the last two games, but it hasn’t been far off, losing to East Carolina and Temple by a combined score of 62-3. Dropping five straight, there have been coaching staff changes, shake-ups, and tweaks, and nothing has mattered.
The last thing the nation’s worst scoring attack needs to deal with is a tough Boston College defense in need of coming up with a big performance.
The Huskies are getting by on run defense, having problems here and there getting ripped up in losses to South Florida and Temple, but doing a terrific job at times getting behind the line and stuffing mediocre offenses.
Boston College has a very, very mediocre offense, but it’ll be just tough enough up front to stop the UConn ground game cold and coming up with the big win needed to set up a shot at bowl eligibility next week.
Every win is pretty, but this game won’t be in any way.
