Bowl and Conference Implications

Tulsa is bowl eligible and has a shot to finish no worse than tied for second in the West, but Navy won the division. Cincinnati will be guaranteed at least a tie for last in the East basement, bout could finish fourth in the division. There’s still an very, very outside shot of getting a bowl bid on APR by finishing 5-7.

What’s Going To Happen?

The University of Cincinnati football program has scored 13 more points than you have over its last three games.

Despite all the hope with a blowout win over Purdue early on as part of a 3-1 start, the Bearcats sunk further and further as the season rolled on in a puzzling campaign. They’ve lots four straight and five of the last six, scoring 13 points or fewer in all five of the losses.

QBs Gunner Kiel and Hayden Moore can’t get the offense moving, while the defense can’t get enough production despite fighting the good fight.

There’s no running game, there’s no downfield passing attack, and there’s little consistency in any way. Outside of that, everything is fine.

Meanwhile, Tulsa keeps on rolling along, beating UCF last week for the fourth win in the last five. However, that one loss was a wild shootout to Navy, and that’s all it took to get knocked out of the the American Athletic title hunt.

The offense continues to have an almost perfect balance, there’s plenty of explosion, and the points are rolling without a problem for a fun, exciting team that’s in the hunt for a possible ten-win season.

Tulsa averages 41 points per game. Cincinnati has scored a total of 35 points in its last five losses. The Bearcats aren’t going to wake up all of a sudden.
