Miami University (1-6) vs. Bowling Green (1-6) Game Preview
Date: Saturday, Oct. 22
Game Time: 12:00 pm
Venue: Doyt Perry Stadium, Bowling Green, OH
The nightmare continues for the defending MAC champ, failing to win a game against an FBS team so far – the lone Bowling Green victory came in a one point win over North Dakota – but at least the offense is starting to work.
The Falcons have found something in freshman James Morgan, who hasn’t brought the wins and cranks out a whole slew of picks, but he threw for 335 yards and five scores in the tough loss to Toledo last week.
But whatever the BGSU O is doing right, the D is making up for it on the negative side.
The worst scoring D in the country, the Falcons have improved a bit, but they’re still giving up 46 points a game, and they’re still not coming up with enough mistakes.
Fortunately for them, Miami is missing QB Billy Bahl, who’s out with a shoulder injury. That means it’s up to Gus Ragland to try kickstarting the woeful offense after throwing two touchdown passes in last week’s win over Kent State.
The MU defense is okay, but can the miserable offense come up with a few good drives? Against this defense, yes, but not enough. It’ll be a good, entertaining game, but the Falcons will come through at home.
