Didn’t you used to be Marshall?
The Thundering Herd finally got a win over an FBS team, slinking by a horrible Florida Atlantic team at home 27-21 in a game when the defense wasn’t completely and totally miserable. And now there’s a little bit of hope.
Charlotte is a winnable game, and so is FIU, and so is Old Dominion – in theory. So if there’s any thought of a bowl game, this is a must win.
Marshall has a decent passing game, and the offense is able to score a bit – even if it’s not explosive – with Chase Litton doing a nice job last week throwing for 330 yards against the Owls.
Charlotte has been competitive at times, and it, too, beat Florida Atlantic in a close, tight game. Like Marshall, the 49er defense can’t stop a decent passing game, but unlike the Herd, the O doesn’t have a Litton.
Charlotte should be able to run a bit, and it’ll keep the game tight, but Marshall is way overdue to open it up a bit. This is when the offense finally starts to work a little better.
Beating Charlotte might not seem like much, but the Herd will take it.
