Georgia Tech (3-2) vs. Pitt (3-2) Game Preview
Date: Saturday, Oct. 8
Game Time: 12:30 pm
Venue: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA
Can Georgia Tech get its own ground attack rolling again?
Clemson stuffed the Yellow Jackets two weeks ago – allowing just 95 yards and a score – and while Miami gave up 267 last week, it held firm when it had to and came up with two defensive scores.
Can Georgia Tech throw at all? If it can, this is the week to give it a shot.
Yeah, Pitt is fourth in the nation against the run, mostly because it’s secondary is getting destroyed.
The front seven should be solid enough to hold its own at times against the option, but Justin Thomas and the Yellow Jacket passing game has to take advantage of its opportunities.
And Pitt has to crank up its own running game and control the clock and the game.
After a slow start with a bad game against Villanova, the ground attack has picked it up in a huge way fumbling for over 1,100 yards over the last four games and 13 scores, ripping through Penn State for 341 yards and Oklahoma State, North Carolina and Marshall for 252 yards or more.
However, the Yellow Jacket run defense has been a brick wall.
The two teams like to do similar things in terms of cranking out the clock and keeping things moving, but Georgia Tech doesn’t win the turnover battle, and Pitt does.
