Wyoming vs. Eastern Michigan Prediction

These are heady times in Ypsilanti for an EMU team going for its first 3-1 start since 1995.

What’s working for the Eagles so far? Facing Mississippi Valley State and Charlotte certainly helps, but this is a veteran team with enough good players in key spots to be more than just competitive this year.

Junior QB Todd Porter throws a few too many picks – four so far – but he’s been deadly accurate in the two wins, coming off a brilliant game against the 49ers. Wyoming’s secondary, on the other hand, hasn’t been so hot.

The Cowboys have been lit up for 310 yards per game through the air, but the offense was able to make up for it in wins over Northern Illinois and UC Davis when the attack started to click.

It took a little while, but Brian Hill got rolling again rumbling for 207 yards and two scores against UC Davis, while QB Josh Allen settled down after his turnover-fest against Nebraska and rebounded with a strong performance.

Can the Cowboys return the favor after EMU came into Laramie last year and left with a stunning victory?

As long as UW doesn’t start giving the ball away again, the offense should be just balanced enough, and just potent enough, to come away with a solid win over a much-improved Eagle team. The Eagles will come up with the big passing yards, but they won’t be enough to match a second straight big game from Hill.

Final Score: Wyoming 34, Eastern Michigan 30

Line: Wyoming -2.5, o/u: 63
